Just playing with night shots and trying out a work flow for a certain feel.

I got a tripod weeks ago and have been playing with it. I always wanted to try night shots, but since my Marianne (that’s my S3’s name) suffers in low light, I’ve always had some difficulty taking decent still shots at night (no flash) without using a tripod. But with a tripod in hand, I can now take scenery shots at night without worrying about the blur.

Thanks for the invite, Jan Ralph! I really had a great time. I can’t wait to shoot with you guys again.

Master Daniel asked me to test the Holga with a 12-shot film so that I can practice on the focusing of my new lomo camera. Since I wasn’ able to find one, I got a Kodak Colorplus 200 with 24 exposures instead.

I brought Hollah (yes, that’s her name) to the Carbon photo op last April 6, 2008. (We had fun, by the way!)

In my excitement, I decided to develop and convert the photos to digital right away. I was quite nervous when I brought the film to the developing center. This was my first time to load and unload a film to/from a cam, and er, I wasn’t really sure if I did it the right way. When the film was developed, I excitedly asked the lady in charge to hand me the negatives and see if there were really pictures on it. Haha! I was really ecstatic to see that there were! Sorry, I’m a noob!

HOLGA 35MM

Right here we have a slightly miniaturized version of the original medium format Holga. Like its older sibling, it’s got an all-plastic lens, two shutter settings, and two aperture settings. Now, I can say this proudly — LOMO ON!

Barely a month ago, when I was asked to shoot a school play, the mother of one of the kids in the show approached me and asked me to load some film into her camera. I was embarrased to admit that I didn’t even know how. Wahahahah. Pathetic!

Anywho, even as I prepare for the arrival of Daniel’s (soon to be my~) Holga, I’ve began to hoard quite a number of rolls in my closet. I got all of these for free, but I won’t tell you how, lest you steal my secret. Hehehe. Note that these are all expired regular film rolls. I realized recently that asking kindly won’t hurt. When you ask, the universe delivers. Wahhahah.

Now, I have 20 rolls for my first lomo cam. Yahooooo! Can’t wait to start experimenting.
